Enjoy Mason County’s favorite cultural attractions! Historic White Pine Village, the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, and the Mason County Research Center. These historic locations will beckon you back to a time gone by.

 

At Historic White Pine Village you will stroll through a 12-acre village that details the life of Mason County’s earliest settlers. Enjoy more than 30 buildings that bring to life the agriculture and lumbering industries that brought settlers to the area.

 

The Port of Ludington Maritime Museum enjoys digitally interactive exhibits that share the vibrant maritime history of the area. Pilot the Pere Marquette 22 across Lake Michigan, experience the 1940 Armistice Day Storm, and learn about the historic SS Badger. Enjoy three floors of exhibits that highlight the various maritime industries that brought settlers to the area.

 

Tour the Mason County Research Center for a behind-the-scenes tour that highlights key industries and individuals that made Mason County what it is today, while there learn how a historical society preserves local and state history.

 

Behind-the-scenes tours are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 3:00 pm.
