Celebrity Wait Night
Come enjoy an entertaining evening with friends for a good cause. Your Celebrity Wait Staff will ensure that you fun. Enjoy a game of trivia, see artifacts from our collection, and take in an evening of music by famed maritime artist Lee Murdock.
Lee Murdock has uncovered a boundless body of music and stories in the Great Lakes. There is an amazing timelessness to this music. Great Lakes songs are made of hard work, hard living, ships that go down and ships that come in.
The music is grounded in the work song tradition, from the rugged days of lumberjacks and wooden sailing schooners. Murdock comes alongside with ballads of contemporary commerce and revelry in the grand folk style.
Murdock has been compared to the late Canadian songwriter, Stan Rogers, with a singing voice and a respect for musical traditions that is reminiscent of the great Burl Ives. Indeed, his repertoire is a seamless blend of the old work songs, mixed with his own original compositions and the work of songwriters such as Shel Silverstein, Woody Guthrie, Pat Dailey, Larry Penn and others.
Tips for your Celebrity Wait Staff will go to further the mission of preserving and presenting the vast history of Mason County.—from our agricultural heritage to our rich maritime heritage.
We are grateful for your generosity, your trust, and most importantly your commitment to our mission. We look forward to seeing you on September 23rd, 2019.

Light Lunch Group Tour
The Mason County Historical Society at Historic White Pine Village would like to welcome groups to travel to our village for a very enjoyable tour of 30 historic exhibit buildings, including the original 1849 Mason County Courthouse (on the National Register of Historic Places ) and an authentic turn-of-the-century steam locomotive, tender car, and flat car loaded with logs and headed toward the Village’s working sawmill. Visitors come face-to-face with early settlers: first-person interpreters with scripts carefully prepared by staff and historians, they interact and improvise with visitors in the persona of historical characters and recreate actual personages from Mason County. The package also includes a delicious light lunch, which will be served in our Town Hall.

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
Below are a couple of geo-caches located in Mason County. We hope these caches will inspire a deeper appreciation for the region’s rich maritime & lumbering history. Have fun and happy hunting!
